I've been using xmonad for good part of a decade, and switched back to KDE5 a year or two back. Sure terminal is a good thing, but support for a lot of things is wonky in xmonad and friends, for example, menus in my IDE are acting crazy in non-floating WMs, and this sucks. Good things from xmonad can be emulated using KWin's scripting and couple apps, then bad things from xmonad are just not there.

Because of 'conflicts' between GTP (Mac OS only installs to a disk formatted as GPT) and MBR (since Macs don't support GPT BIOS boot), I'm considering getting a new disk formatted with MBR and install FreeBSD and Windows on that one, or formatting the one I already have and install Mac OS on a new SSD. Jul 15, 2013 VMware Tools for FreeBSD is available and necessary under Fusion for Mac. I don't think you need to do anything special to install the tools in text mode.

But my real beef is that he has all the Linux users convinced they are not complete 'free' unless they use the firmware baked into their device from the factory (which is still closed source anyways) as opposed to freely distributed firmware which is more up to date and (in the case of intel) has security mitigation from all their processor bugs. Because of this, Stallman denied OpenBSD acceptance into FSF over this (and a rumor that there was closed source port at one time which I have no idea about). But OpenBSD's base system has always been FOSS and that dude at LibertyBSD 'de-blobbing' the kernel is an idiot. So now you have a whole community of users who think they're better than everybody because they're distro has a Stallman blessing, and because they refuse updated microcode and firmware (only what was baked into the factory back in 2013 is acceptable). This isn't even technically sound, and it's silly. Okay rant over.
